Lt. Gov. Howie Morales, State Dignitaries Celebrate Rural Student Broadband Connections In Silver City

SILVER CITY — Lt. Gov. Howie Morales, state dignitaries, TWN Communications, Silver Consolidated Schools and the New Mexico Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Silver High School at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7 to launch hundreds of broadband connections that will provide high-speed internet to rural students.

TWN Communications is hosting the event after OBAE awarded the company $1.5 million through its Student Connect grant program to build fixed wireless service for nearly 500 students in the Silver Consolidated Schools District.
