Los Alamos Youth Win at National Competition

Two Los Alamos youth, Tazler Smith and Jennifer Necker participated in the English Setter Association of America National Dog Show Friday, Nov. 9 in Albuquerque. Smith, an Aspen Elementary School 6th grader, presents his dog, Arthur, during the best junior handler competition portion of the event.

Jennifer Necker was awarded Best Junior Handler by judge Susie Kerwin-Bush. ESAA President Janet Gray presented Necker with an engraved silver bowl, the James Smith Haring Memorial Trophy and a $500 U.S. savings bond. Necker is the first junior handler to be awarded this honor twice by the English Setter Association of America. Necker was awarded best junior handler at the 2011 ESAA National in Wisconsin.
