The Los Alamos High School Topper Varsity Baseball Team progressed to the first round of the State Baseball Tournament played the Albuquerque Academy Chargers last weekend in Albuquerque. The teams were to play a best of 3 series to decide the winner to progress in state competition.

The Toppers lost the first game 0-7. The second game was to be played on Saturday morning, but the weather closed in and the game was stopped in the 7th inning with the Toppers at bat and bases loaded,  one out and a score of 2-4 in favor of the Chargers. The game continued on Monday where the Toppers were not able to score and lost 2-4, which closed out their season.

The Toppers had a very good season finishing as District champions with a 10-2 district record and 18-7 overall record.
