Los Alamos Tennis Wins Big At 2026 District Individual Tournament In Taos

Los Alamos Tennis had a strong presence at the district individual tournament this week in Taos with 6 players on the podium from the boys side, and 3 girls making it to the semifinals round.

In the boys singles tournament, 8th grader Luke Gibson took the overall win in the finals over Holden Harvey-Romero from Santa Fe Prep. Freshmen Los Alamos teammates Levi Gibson and Cullen McLean faced each other in an all Los Alamos singles third place match with Levi coming out on top to take the third-place medal.

In the boys doubles tournament, Senior Mike Witkowski and Junior Aditya Viswnathan came up just short in the finals against a strong team from Santa Fe Prep to take second place. Sophomore teammates Zach Gibson and Logan Swickley won their third-place match against St. Michael’s to claim the third-place medal.

In the girls singles event, Los Alamos junior Caris Hatler made it to the third-place match before falling in a tight three set match to her opponent from Espanola Valley High School. The girls doubles team of sophomore Lucia Rudin and freshman Julia Robel also made it to the third-place match and fell in a three-set battle with Santa Fe Prep.

Next up the team heads to the state tournament in Albuquerque May 6-9.
