COMMUNITY News:
In celebration of opening at their new location, Los Alamos STEAM Lab and Samizdat Bookstore are hosting the First Annual Great Crypto Hunt!
Band together with friends, create a team of 2-5 people, and join them for a two-part town-wide adventure.
First, teams will learn how to use a replica of an Enigma Machine, a WWII era encryption device to decode clues that lead to a series of walkable locations. This part can easily be completed in a couple of hours.
At the end of the clue hunt participants will receive a passphrase they will use to unlock the second phase of their mission: a county wide scavenger hunt with plenty of room for creativity. The scavenger can be raced through in a long day or spread out over the full two weeks.
Teams of all ages are welcome to join in on this adventure. Prizes and bragging rights will be awarded to the top three teams. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. today, March 26 and continues through April 10.
