Los Alamos ScienceFest Events for Tuesday, July 11

Tuesdays at the Square – Central Park Square, TONIGHT 6-8 pm 
Los Alamos Jazz Project headlines our ScienceFest-themed Tuesday concert.
 
The Night Sky in July – Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium, 7pm

Los Alamos ScienceFest Events for Wednesday, July 12 

Family Summer Evening w/ Robot Dog – Los Alamos Nature Center, 6pm
Celebrate ScienceFest with Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) during this unique Summer Family Evening. Join a LANL mechanical engineer in observing and driving a “robot dog” at the Los Alamos Nature Center. Attendees will learn about Boston Dynamics robots, which are being developed for repetitive or dangerous tasks. Admission: $0/member family, $5/non-member family. Admission is paid at the door. 
 
Movie in the Park: Wall-E – Ashley Pond Park, 8:15pm
Bring your blankets, pajamas, and snacks to watch a movie under the stars!

It’s Come out to Central Park Square this Saturday from 6-8pm for the Los Alamos ScienceFest Play Crawl: STEAM for Adults and play again like a kid. Math games, engineering activities, science experiments, beer, trivia. all here!
 
Poetry Under the Stars – Los Alamos Nature Center, 7pm
Join New Mexico Poet Laureate Lauren Camp for a special evening of poetry under the stars of the planetarium! Register on the PEEC website.
 
​“House at Otowi Bridge” Film Discussion – Fuller Lodge, 7-8:30 pm
A panel of historians, producers and writers will discuss the development of the movie project, and the story behind Edith Warner and the “House at Otowi Bridge.”

Dark Night Star Party – Overlook Park, White Rock, 8:30-11pm
Spend the evening with the Pajarito Astronomers Club gazing at the stunning July night sky! This event is contingent on the weather.

Minesh Bacrania exhibit in the windows of the former CB Fox Department Store. This one-of-a-kind photo installation takes guests “behind the fence” of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Featuring Minesh Bacrania’s dynamic photography, taken in collaboration with Smithsonian Magazine, this walking exhibit brings the Lab’s Manhattan Project-era buildings and science to life.
