ScienceFest News:

The annual Los Alamos ScienceFest is returning July 6-11 in a variety of channels and under the theme “Driven By Science”.

New this year, ScienceFest organizers will be piloting a “Discovery Box” concept, for which they are seeking proposals for different age-appropriate at-home Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) activities.

Content ideas are due April 1 and interested local organizations and businesses can visit LosAlamosScienceFest.com and click on “Discovery Box Proposal” for more information and to submit concepts.

Families and individuals will have the opportunity to reserve one of three complimentary kits in mid-June and then explore the activities at home during the traditional Los Alamos ScienceFest Discovery Day, which this year will fall on Saturday, July 10. Due to the pandemic the 2021 Discovery Day will look different, without the normal festival elements; some safe in-person activities will be explored depending on the State’s latest COVID-related restrictions.
