Los Alamos School Of Gymnastics Atomic Tumblers Compete Well In Winter Fiesta Meet In Albuquerque

Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) Atomic Tumblers traveled to the Albuquerque Convention Center last weekend to compete in the Winter Fiesta Meet hosted by Precision Gymnastics of Albuquerque. There were 775 gymnasts from 17 New Mexico and Colorado teams competing.

Ten of the 12 LASG Bronze level gymnasts competed. Once again Lucy Meierbachtol was the high scorer for Los Alamos. She took third in the children’s age group, winning the Bronze medal in the all around with a 36.25. Meierbachtol also took the gold medal on the floor exercise with her 9.15, the silver medal on bars with a 9.60 and the bronze medal on vault with 8.90.

In the same division Harmony Cutter was eighth all around with 34.80 and Kayla Daley was ninth with 34.00. Daley also took a bronze medal on bars with 9.20.

Tehya Thornton took fifth in the junior division with 34.95. She also won a silver medal on bars with a 9.70. In this division Lucy Lindsay was seventh with 34.15. Lindsay also won the bronze medal on vault with 8.80.

In the youngest bronze age division Maddie Vallejo was fifth with 34.75 and Ava Zadina was sixth with 34.70. Zadina also won a gold medal on bars with a 9.40.

In the fourth age division Lainey Hopwood was eighth with 34.45 and Addy Archuleta was ninth with 32.90.

In the Silver competition, Christina Samantzidou was LASG’s high scorer at 34.40 for fourth place All Around in the youngest age group. Nina Gyrya competed in the same group and took eighth all-around.

In the middle age group Amelie Vallejo was ninth with 33.33. And in the junior age group Abbie Johnson was eighth with 30.85.

In the Gold division of competition, Teagan Brown was LASG’s high scorer, finishing ninth in the senior age division with 32.15. She was followed by Katelyn Martinez who was 10th with 31.00. In the junior division, Ava Vigil was seventh and Leeza Trudolyubov was eighth. In the children’s division Caroline Eriksen was seventh with with 32.05.

On Saturday, Feb, 3, LASG played host to five teams from New Mexico and Colorado in their facility on North Mesa, for the 42nd annual Snowflake Invitational.
