Los Alamos Public Schools And LAPS Foundation Honor Elementary Teachers For Achieving LETRS Certification

Teachers from Los Alamos Public Schools who have completed LETRS certification were honored by LAPS and the LAPS Foundation Tuesday evening at Pig + Fig Cafe in White Rock. LETRS stands for Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling. It is a training for teachers that provides them with in-depth knowledge and tools, which they can then use with any reading program. It includes eight units of study. The teachers have a printed manual they use, an online platform, and then there are two training sessions, which can either be online or live in person. It is quite extensive, which is why we wanted to celebrate all of the hard work and time they have put into it. Photo by Bonnie J. Gordon/ladailypost.com
