Los Alamos Public Safety Association Awards Scholarships To UNM-LA Students Giron And Talachy

The Los Alamos Public Safety Association presented $500 scholarship awards to Eric Giron and Heaven Talachy Thursday at the Los Alamos Fire Administration Building on Central Avenue. Chosen from a pool of seven applicants, Giron is studying Fire Science and Talachy is studying Public Safety at UNM-LA. Giron receives a challenge coin and $500 scholarship from Deputy Chief and LAPSA President Steve Dewald, one of his teachers in the Fire Science Program at UNM-LA. During the Los Alamos Public Safety Association meeting Thursday, Los Alamos Police Cmdr. The purpose of the Los Alamos Public Safety Association is to create a forum for senior managers who are actively involved in public safety-related positions within the Los Alamos Region to meet, discuss areas of mutual interest, recognize accomplishments in the public safety arena, and consider such actions as may be in the mutual interest of the group to improve and coordinate public safety activities.
