Presentation: Women on the Santa Fe Trail
The history of the Santa Fe Trail is told in the stories of those who braved the trail and forged a path through 5 states on their travels to the west. Historian and scholar Marla Matkin will share stories that are often left untold; those of three unique and powerful women who were active participants and helped shape the Santa Fe Trail. Matkin’s theatrical and engaging delivery will bring life to the stories from over a century ago. This presentation will be held at Mesa Public Library from 6:30–7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 21.

There will be a costume contest, crafts and activities, tabletop games, demonstrations of medieval battles, and Lego competitions. A vendor hall will fill Fuller Lodge with arts, comics, crafts, and more.
