Los Alamos Post Office Listed in State Register of Cultural Properties

COUNTY News:

State and National Register Coordinator Steven Moffson of the New Mexico Historic Preservation Division has announced that the Los Alamos Post Office was listed June 13 in the State Register of Cultural Properties by the Cultural Properties Review Committee (CPRC).

The Los Alamos Post Office opened in its present location at 199 Central Park Square in downtown Los Alamos in November 1948, on the site of the Ranch School Trading Post. The CPRC also will recommend that it be forwarded for consideration to the National Register.

The CPRC was created by the Cultural Properties Act to serve as a professional policy-making/advisory board for historic preservation in New Mexico.
