Los Alamos Police Respond To Call Of Man With Gun At Smith’s … Arrest Gary Johnson Of Arizona Covered In Hate Group Tattoos

Los Alamos Police arrest Gary Johnson of Arizona this afternoon after responding to a call that a man had a gun at Smith’s Marketplace. Johnson had left Smith’s in his black pickup and police spotted him and pulled him over near 15th Street and Trinity Drive. From left, Cpl. David Boe, Chief Dino Sgambellone and Det. Daniel Roberts speak with Johnson and determine that he possessed a pellet gun and was driving on a suspended license. Upon seeing Johnson’s tattoos and recognizing that they were consistent with those worn by members of certain hate groups, Chief Sgambellone asked whether he was in town with the intention of starting a hate group here. Johnson said no, adding that he had left that lifestyle in Arizona. He said he was in town to visit his girlfriend.
