Los Alamos Police Release Names Of Brother And Sister Found Deceased Wednesday In Denver Steels Area Home

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) was called to 3536 Pueblo Drive in the Denver Steels area at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 4, after receiving several 9-1-1 calls and reports that a woman was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police officers responded to the scene, entered the home, and located a woman deceased from gunshot wounds and a male subject deceased from a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The woman has been identified as 63-year-old Beverly A. Warner of Chimayo; the homicide victim.

The male subject has been identified as 69-year-old Jack Markham of Los Alamos, and Warner’s brother. He is named as the offender in this homicide investigation being conducted as a murder-suicide by the LAPD Criminal Investigations Section.

“The Los Alamos Police Department will continue to investigate all aspects of this homicide to ensure everything is properly documented and all questions are answered surrounding this tragedy,” Deputy Police Chief Oliver Morris said. “The victim was a daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and we send our deepest condolences to the family.”

Previous Case

Jack Markham previously served time in prison for a murder conviction that took place Aug. 4, 2008. In that case, LAPD officers responded to the Denver Steels area and arrested Markham for murdering his then wife Robin Markham. Markham was convicted and sentenced to 16 years in prison with six years suspended. However, Markham was released early in July 2017. He was on probation until September 2022 and not legally allowed to be in possession of a firearm.
