LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is on the scene and actively investigating a plane crash that occurred just before 1:24 p.m. today, Dec. 31, 2024, at the Los Alamos County Airport.

“According to the pilot, he took off from Los Alamos Airport, circled the area a few times, and returned to the airport. While attempting to land, a crosswind caught the plane and pushed it off the runway, causing it to come to rest nose down at the east end of the runway. Fortunately, there were no injuries to the pilot. It is currently unknown if there is any damage to the plane or the runway,” Deputy Police Chief James Rodriguez said.

LAPD will continue to investigate the incident and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
