Los Alamos Police Arrest Woman In Vehicle Theft Case

LAPD News:

At approximately 9:15 a.m. today, Aug. 20, 2025, a female suspect stole a Los Alamos County vehicle from the area of Ashley Pond. Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) officers began canvassing the community in search of the stolen vehicle.

Approximately 90 minutes after the initial call, a Bandelier National Monument Park Ranger located the vehicle unoccupied at the White Rock Library. Responding officers initiated a search of the area and located the female suspect inside the women’s restroom of the library.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Los Alamos Detention Facility.

Upon booking, the woman refused to provide any identifying information and was processed as Jane Doe. She faces charges of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and concealing identity. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

This case remains under active investigation by LAPD detectives.
