Los Alamos Police Arrest Man In Cyclist Hit And Run Case

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department has arrested Julian Lopez, 20, of Alcalde for the April 19 hit and run crash involving local cyclists Andy Nunn and Brandon Hill.

Fellow Pajarito Riders cyclist Brett Kettering told the Los Alamos Daily Post Tuesday that he and Hill were riding their bikes with Nunn at about noon Monday when the driver of a pickup struck Nunn, sending him and his bike flying through the air more than 100 feet up the road, and knocking Hill to the ground, adding that the driver never hit hits brakes and just sped away.

Lopez was booked into the Los Alamos Detention Center and charged through Los Alamos Magistrate Court with:

  • Accident involving death or personal injuries;
  • Failure to give immediate notice of accident; and
  • Careless driving.
