Los Alamos Monitor Newspaper Closing Doors After 57 Years

The Los Alamos Monitor announced today that it is closing its doors after 57 years. The final edition is Sunday, Aug. 30. According to the announcement, Landmark Community Newspapers (which has owned the Monitor since 1979), President Mike Abernathy commended the staff but said efforts were not enough to overcome the economic challenges the paper has faced.
