LAMC News:

Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) is ringing in 2022 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 6 pounds and 3.6 ounces and measuring 20 inches, Issiah was born to Ashlynn and Joseph Garcia at 7:29 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

“We are so excited for our newest addition to the family!” Ashlynn said. “Our birth experience at LAMC was really good! We enjoyed each staff member that was involved with mine and Isaiah’s care. We felt safe during our stay in the unit especially with COVID. The visitor limitations actually made us feel more comfortable because I knew the staff cared about our health and the health of our baby. Any time we needed anything the nurses on the unit were very quick to respond and help us out.”

RN Jana Minnick said, “It was so exciting to be a part of the first delivery of 2022 at LAMC! It was even more exciting for me personally because I am new to LAMC, so this was my first delivery here at this hospital! I was so encouraged to see the whole team from the OB (Obstetrics Department), to the nurses, to the Neonatologist, to the Respiratory Therapists come together to assist in bringing this sweet baby into the world. I loved caring for this little one and his sweet family while they were here, from labor to going home, and can’t wait to get to know and provide excellent care to many more families over the next year!”

LAMC extends a huge thank you to its amazing staff that played a part before, during and after the delivery. LAMC also gives a big shout out to the Los Alamos County Fire Department for coming to the hospital to help the new baby’s father install a car seat safely before the family went home.
