Los Alamos Man Charged with Aerosol Abuse to Face Judge June 17

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department has released the booking photo for Matthew Weinman of Los Alamos, charged with aggravated DUI and glue or aerosol abuse or possession.

Several citizens spotted Weinman Sunday afternoon, driving his pickup in an unsafe manner, swerving on Los Alamos streets some five minutes before veering onto the sidewalk along Diamond Drive.

According to police, the 22-year-old drove approximately 100 feet before crashing through a fence and careening more than 50 feet into Pueblo Canyon behind the Los Alamos Baptist Church.

Sgt. James Rodriguez said Sunday that Weinman had been inhaling fumes from an aerosol can prior to crashing some five minutes after police received the first 911 call from a citizen.

Weinman survived the crash with relatively minor injuries including cuts and scrapes on his face, some bruises and a couple of bumps on his head, Rodriguez said.

Weinman has bonded out of jail and is ordered to appear for his arraignment at 11:45 a.m., June 17 before Judge Pat Casados in Los Alamos Magistrate Court.
