Los Alamos Living Treasure Bill Hudson Has Died

Bill Hudson, 90, of Los Alamos passed away Friday in Los Alamos.

Hudson is a decorated World War II Marine Corps veteran who served at the Battle of Iwo Jima when he was just 19.

He has been a coach and fitness instructor and has participated in many volunteer activities in Los Alamos, including Rotary.

The Los Alamos triathlon, the longest running continuous triathlon in the country, was organized by Hudson and his wife Maureen in 1975. He has spoken frequently to students and groups on topics including health and fitness, military and World War II history, and patriotism.

Memorial service details for Hudson will be announced soon.
