Los Alamos JJAB To Host 20th Anniversary Community Celebration Sept. 14 At Ashley Pond Park

Los Alamos JJAB News:

Los Alamos JJAB has announced its 20th Anniversary Community Celebration, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 14 at Ashley Pond Park.

The event will celebrate the organization’s successes and community involvement. It will include free activities such as a bounce house and obstacle course, laser tag, inflatable axe throwing and 3-ball, lawn games, a DJ and prizes.

JJAB is also collaborating with other local non-profits and organizations to provide arts and crafts projects, STEAM activities and resource tables. Celebratory cupcakes will be provided, and food and refreshments will be available to purchase.

The whole community is invited to join in the fun with activities for all ages.

Twenty years ago, JJAB was established by resolutions of the Los Alamos County Council and the Los Alamos School Board to ensure that local services were available for Los Alamos youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Today, JJAB provides services that include prevention and intervention programs for all youth ages birth through 18, has more than 13 part-time and full-time employees, and directly manages nine programs and provides funding for another nine.

“We are looking forward to celebrating our accomplishments from the past 20 years with the entire community,” JJAB Executive Director Rachel Mohr-Richards said. “JJAB is known for its service to youth and their families and ability to collaborate with other organizations to provide needed services and programs. We hope everyone can come together to celebrate that and enjoy a day of fun, food and music.”
