From The Los Alamos Jewish Center:
The Los Alamos Jewish Center was pleased to present LA Cares recently with a donation of $2,200 to assist it in carrying out its critical work for our community.
These funds were raised at a benefit concert held at the Jewish Center on August 31, featuring Daniel Boling, an Albuquerque-based folk singer and songwriter. Daniel is a regular collaborator in songwriting with the legendary folk singer Tom Paxton. In addition, he is a member of the latest generation of the iconic folk group, The Limelighters.
The concert, which was sponsored by Sophia and Richard Skolnik, was well attended by a wide range of community members. As promised, they found the performer to be an outstanding singer, masterful player of the guitar and banjo, and a writer of endearing, moving, and often humorous songs.
The Jewish Center would like to thank the community for its support of this event. The Jewish Center would also like to thank Daniel Boling who not only put on an enjoyable concert but also donated the proceeds of his CD sales, $455, to LA Cares.
In conjunction with our New Year and Day of Atonement, we are now carrying out our annual food drive for LA cares and will soon be offering further support to this important organization.
