LAHS News:
Los Alamos Historical Society is soliciting nominations for its annual Los Alamos History Award.
Society members, community residents, and other interested persons are invited to submit nominations. The 2021 recipient was long-time volunteer, tour guide, and author John Ruminer.
This is an annual award that recognizes someone who has made a significant contribution to preserving the world-changing history of our community. Factors that weigh heavily in consideration for the award include depth and breadth of achievement over time, volunteer commitment, and a lasting impact. Both individuals and organizations are eligible.
Posthumous awards are not made, and self-nominations are not allowed. The Board of Directors of Los Alamos Historical Society selects the winner; therefore, staff and board members are not eligible during the period of their active service.Â
Los Alamos Historical Society strives to recognize those who have gone above and beyond to preserve and/or share the remarkable history of this community and region. The Award is presented annually, assuming selection of an appropriate candidate or candidates.
Nomination forms may be downloaded by visiting losalamoshistory.org, clicking the menu button, then Programs, then History Award. Closing date for submitting nominations is Sept. 18, 2022. Forms should be returned to the Society office in Fuller Lodge or emailed to alison@losalamoshistory.org.
