In its final home game of the 2025 season, the Los Alamos Hilltopper football team took care of business by taking care of the Rio Grande Ravens.

Los Alamos scored three touchdowns in each of the first two quarters, then closed out the contest early against the winless Ravens, winning 50-0 at about the halfway point of the third quarter.

The win Friday night at Sullivan Field propelled the Hilltoppers to 8-0 on the regular season. The Hilltoppers remain the only undefeated team in Class 5A this season.

Hayden Watkins hit Cooper Beavers on a long post route at the 6:30 mark of the third quarter to finish off the contest and officially keep the Hilltoppers’ perfect season intact.

Rio Grande (0-8) has struggled in all facets this season and its roster went into Friday’s game and has had a rash of injuries making things much more difficult. The Ravens platooned two quarterbacks Friday night and were running a very vanilla offense the entire way before Darrien Flores was injured on a hard hit in the backfield late in the contest.

Jordan Herrera scored three times Friday night, the third on a 57-yard carry in the second quarter, and Ben Brousseau scored twice on a 57-yard catch-and-run from Watkins and a free kick runback following a Hilltopper safety late in the second quarter.

Backup quarterback Caleb Taylor also hit Carlo Baca on a 1-yard toss in the second quarter.

Friday’s game was the fourth time this season the Hilltoppers have reached the 50-point mark in a game and was the Hilltoppers’ second shutout of the season, as well.

The Hilltoppers have just two games left in the regular season. Oct. 25, they will be in Albuquerque to take on the Valley Vikings (3-5), who knocked off Del Norte 39-23 Thursday night.

Following next week’s contest, the Hilltoppers will close out the regular season Oct. 31 at Gallup Miyamura (4-4), which was a 28-12 victor Friday night at Capital.
