LAHS Cross Country

Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Track & Field athletes distinguished themselves Monday evening at the Marilyn Sepulveda Meet of Champions at UNM.

Only the top-10 athletes in each event across all classifications in New Mexico are invited to this meet, so the level of competition is very high.

Top finishers among the Hilltopper Girls included Jaiya Daniels, who was a triple winner in the 100 m (12.33 seconds), 200 m (24.84 seconds), and triple jump (38’ 1/4”). Angelina Passalaqua in the 100 m hurdles (15.34 seconds), and finished 2nd in both the 300 m hurdles (46.40 seconds) and long jump (17’ 1-1/2”). Anna Wetteland won the 400 m in a #2 all-time Hilltopper time of 57.81 seconds. Colette Bibeault won the pole vault with a jump of 10’. Nyla Lee placed 2nd in the 200 m (25.58 seconds), and 3rd in both the 100 m (12.61 seconds) and long jump (17’). Kayli Lincoln placed 2nd in the triple jump (36’ 5-1/2”).  Dani Trellue placed 2nd in the 100 m hurdles (16.36 seconds), 3rd in the triple jump (35’ 8”) and 4th in the pole vault (9’ 6”).

Top finishers among the ‘Topper Boys included Daniel Kim, who won the 300 m hurdles (40.27 seconds), and placed 2nd in the 110 m hurdles (15.27 seconds). Melaki Gutierrez won the 200 m (21.80 seconds) and placed 2nd in the 100 m (10.91 seconds). Jack Ammerman won the 800 m in a time of 1:59.56, the first time Ammerman has broken the significant 2-minute barrier in that event. Grafton Urbatsch placed 2nd in the 400 m (50.24 seconds).
