Los Alamos High School Class of 2020 graduate Trystan Osburn has accepted an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.
Osburn was the Commanding Officer for the LAHS NJROTC unit during the 2019-2020 school year. While at LAHS, he was an Honors Student, Senior Class Historian, member of the National Honors Society and a Natural Helpers Officer.
He also was recognized as an Honorary National Merit Scholar and member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
Osburn received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy as well, but ultimately decided on the Air Force Academy in order to pursue his dream to fly the F-22 Raptor.
He received Congressional Nominations from U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, U.S. Sen. Tom Udall and U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich.
Osburn is scheduled to report to the United States Air Force Academy Thursday, June 25 to begin his Basic Cadet Training.
