Los Alamos Golf Pro Mike Phillips Awarded Leadership Coin

Los Alamos Golf Pro Mike Phillips, left, receives the Los Alamos County Leadership Coin for his achievements as a Professional Golf Association (PGA) Professional and for being honored a second time as a Top 50 Kids Coach by U.S. Kids Golf, the world’s leading organization in developing young golfers. Los Alamos County Recreation Manager Dan Erickson, center, acknowledged Phillips’ accomplishment calling it an incredible achievement even if it were his only job, but considering how many hours he dedicates each week as a PGA Professional, it’s especially significant he was able to be honored a second year in a row as a Top 50 Kids Coach, Erickson said. Golf Course Manager Mike Lippiatt, right, also acknowledged Phillips calling him a great co-worker who continually studies the latest techniques for coaching kids. Lippiatt pointed out that Phillips will be recognized as a Master Coach should he be selected a third time by U.S. Kids Golf. Photo by KayLinda Crawford/ladailypost.com
