Progress continues on the clubhouse with window installation taking place. The HVAC work is nearly complete, sheet rock work in the basement has started and a great deal of site work is taking place in the parking lot.
Speaking of the parking lot, we appreciate the patience that players have shown, as the contractor works to complete this portion of construction site work. We expect this work to be completed in mid- November and players to have access again to the main entrance and parking lot.
To date we’ve had about a dozen pass holders request to be included on our list for securing bag storage for next year. We will be installing a limited number of bag racks to store bags for the upcoming season and are trying to determine the demand. We expect the pricing to be in the range of $110 to $120 per bag storage stall, based on other facilities in the region that have bag storage. Contact the Golf Course if interested.
It continues to be our vision to have a seasoned operator for food service in the new facility that has the capability to serve multiple groups at one time and who can produce good food at a reasonable price. Full service will probably not be ready by spring, as an operator has not yet been selected.
Director of Golf at LAGC Donnie Torres reports that the golf course hosted 43 tournament days, which amounted to just under 2,000 rounds played. LAGC hosted 14 fundraiser tournaments, which amounted to $85,000 raised for programs in Los Alamos and northern New Mexico.
It’s that time of year when players who have credit, (winnings) in the Pro Shop from all of this season’s events should come by and cash out, Torres said. The deadline is Friday, Dec. 20. All soft goods are on sale 50 percent off at the Pro Shop.
Winter hours are in effect at the Pro Shop. The hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. The first tee time is 9 a.m. every day, weather and frost permitting. The driving range is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
