With the mild weather we’ve experienced over most of the winter and with most of the snow currently gone from the course we are planning to open this Saturday.
Golf shop hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with our first tee time at 10 a.m. We’ll close the range at 3:45 p.m.
Because we are still in mid-winter, the following restrictions will be in place. Those that use carts will be restricted to paths, sorry but those that usually use a flag to access the fairways to reach their ball will also be restricted to the cart paths.
We will not be taking the covers off the greens yet, so holes #1, #8, #9, #12, #13 and #16 will have flags on temporary greens in front of those regular greens and we ask that all players play to those temporary greens.
The other 12 greens will all be open and players may play to those greens. There are some bunkers that may still have snow in them and may be difficult to play from, but it is the middle of winter. With the turf still dormant and no recuperative capability any divot taken this time of year will still be there 60 days later. Thus we’ve put mats on all par 3’s and players must play from mats on these holes. This will assist us in having these tees in much better shape for you come spring, when the turf begins to awaken from its winter dormancy.
This time of year we will likely be open for a few days and then close as a winter weather system comes through the area and then reopen as the snow disappears, such a system is currently forecast for Tuesday of next week.
We hope to see you out this weekend for the start of another golf season!
