LAGS News:
The Los Alamos Geology Society will meet 7-8 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Los Alamos Christian Church, 92 East Road.
The featured speaker is Dr. Stephen Ledoux who will give a talk titled, “A Science Accounting of Noah’s Flood”.
For much of American culture, the ancient story of a Great Flood comes down as the version told by Noah. Did such a flood really happen? The history of geology is riddled by scholarly exchanges, even bitter arguments, over interpretations of the geological record as showing the effects of a Great Flood, and not just any Great Flood but precisely the Great Flood that Noah described.
Ledoux will overview the many facets of these discoveries, putting a face on what happened to whom, when, where, why, how, where they went, and the lasting effects down to the present day.
All in the community are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
