Los Alamos Cooperative Market (LACM) has hired Thomas Salazar as their new General Manager. Salazar served as LACM Pricing Manager and Grocery Manager under former LACM GM, Andre Chavez, and has been interim GM since June 2024.

“We are fortunate to have found a capable, energetic, and dedicated GM for LACM, moreover, to have found a GM with roots in town and in Northern New Mexico,” said LACM Board of Directors President Robi Mulford.

Salazar, a graduate of Espanola HS, earned his associate’s degree in integrated studies from Central New Mexico Community College and Santa Fe Community College. Before coming to LACM, he was in management for Walgreen’s.

“I am excited and honored to take on this role at Los Alamos Cooperative Market,” he said. “My focus will be on strengthening our community connections and continuing to build a welcoming, vibrant marketplace for everyone.”

Salazar just returned from a Co-op Management conference in Minneapolis, Minn., where LACM was recognized as one of the fastest growing food co-ops in the country.

Founded in 2011, Los Alamos Cooperative Market is Los Alamos’ only community owned and operated full-service grocery store.
