Educator-endorsed Jaurigue, Green, Spector and Colgan Sweep Elections

Following Tuesday’s election, Los Alamos Federation of School Employees (LAFSE) Union Co-President, Christine Englebrecht and Co-President Trey Pereyra released the following statements:

“We would like to express our congratulations to the newly elected, LAFSE-endorsed, (School) Board member Antonio Jaurigue, and returning Board members Ellen Specter, Erin Green and Melanie Colgan.

We look forward to deepening our partnership as we continue to support and advocate for all our students and staff,” Engelbrecht said.

“We want to thank our COPE committee members for their diligent work ensuring the best candidates were endorsed in this election,” Pereyra said. “Los Alamos’ system of public education is truly a community effort, and (Tuesday) night’s election results show the deep level of partnership we have achieved working collaboratively with the Board of Education and as a presence in the communities we serve. This election, including the passage of the school bond, is critical for maintaining these long-standing relationships and we are excited to work with our new and returning members.”
