Los Alamos Father and Daughter Take First in USA Cycling National Championships

Neal Pederson and his daughter, Michelle Pederson of Los Alamos were both winners in their age categories at the USA National Championships Downhill Mountain Bike race last Sunday in Angel Fire.

Michele won the junior women’s 15-18 race and Neal did the same in the men’s 45-49 event.

Michelle bested her field by more than two minutes to secure the Stars-and-Stripes jersey and earn an automatic nomination to represent her country at the world championships.

Ty Brooks of Los Alamos garnered a podium fifth place finish in the Men’s 19-29 category.
