Los Alamos Family Council CountUP! Week 4

By Los Alamos Family Council:

Approximately 4 percent of Americans suffer with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Additionally, one in five US adults, and another one in five U.S. youth will suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder each year.

And that’s why the work Los Alamos Family Council does is so important.

Commonly occurring disorders include anxiety and depression to post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorder can prevent individuals from achieving what they are otherwise capable of. Rather than being able to maintain healthy relationships, or focus on their work or school, some struggle to cope with everyday stressors. Some struggle to understand their own emotions and feelings, much less the emotions of others.

Los Alamos Family Council is dedicated to promoting the social and emotional well-being of those in our community through education, prevention, and counseling. To learn more about our programs, visit our website at lafamilycouncil.org.

Thank you for joining us in our 60th Anniversary CountUP! celebration!
