Executive Director
Los Alamos Family Council

Earlier this week the world celebrated International Women’s Day. Los Alamos Family Council owes much of its historical impact to the leadership of two great women: founder and first Executive Director Margaret Brown and most recent past Executive Director, Joy Beery.

Beery served as Executive Director for 18 years after completing a career with the Los Alamos Public Schools. Under Joy’s leadership, Los Alamos Family Council weathered a decade long financial storm, continued to meet client need, and ensured that Los Alamos Family Council would endure beyond the sale of its building.

Berry began with Los Alamos Family Council in 2001 and retired in 2018.

Thanks to the efforts of Beery, Los Alamos Family Council continues to serve the community of Los Alamos and the surrounding areas through our current programming, with a focus on our mission of promoting social and emotional well-being through education, prevention, and counseling. For more information about LAFC’s programs, please call 662-4160, visit our website at www.lafamilycouncil.org.
