Los Alamos
Beef and Leaf is the latest offering from Laura Crucet, chef/owner of Pig and Fig and Sugar and Cream. Crucet is an award winning chef with over 25 years of experience. Beef and Leaf is her latest restaurant offering located in Los Alamos in the heart of North Community. She opened Pig and Fig in 2016 and Sugar and Cream in 2023. Beef and Leaf offers an expansive menu of upscale comfort food, and features a full bar.
I visited with my son last week. I strongly recommend making a reservation, which can be easily done online thru OpenTable. I made a reservation the same day for 5:30 p.m., but I have seen days where reservations are sold out so I would recommend trying to book several days in advance.
I tried the key lime margarita and my son got the strawberry lemonade. They also offer a great selection of local beers, including from the White Rock brewery Piedra Blanca, and they have an excellent and well priced wine list.
We weren’t super hungry so opted to share some appetizers, settling on the short rib beef empanadas and the crab cakes. Service was prompt and friendly, but keep in mind it’s a new restaurant and can get busy! The appetizers were freshly made, flavorful and on point!
We saved room for dessert, which also did not disappoint. He got the blueberry peach crisp, and I got the salted caramel and banana budino. Both were fantastic!
You can check out their menu and make reservations at their website here.

My son is a budding chef and huge foodie, and he was very impressed! We are both excited to have such a great new restaurant in town, and looking forward to going back soon.
