Los Alamos Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider is being honored as New Mexico Fire Officer of the Year this evening at the 4th annual New Mexico Fire & EMS Expo in Soccoro.

Fire Officer of the Year is awarded to a fire officer who has emphasized leadership, dedication, integrity, professional development, service to the public and contributions to the Fire Service as a whole.

This year’s Expo theme “Diamond Jubilee” – Celebrating 60 years of Training for New Mexico’s First Responders was held Sept. 9-16 at the New Mexico State Firefighters’ Training Academy in Socorro.

Chief Grider expressed the pride he feels for the relationships he has developed and fostered over the years and the support he has received from so many in the Fire Service throughout the state.
