Los Alamos County Working To Re-Open Aquatics Center

COUNTY News:

The Walkup Aquatics Center Project to replace the HVAC and boilers is behind schedule. The contractor has not made the completion date and the County is holding the contractor accountable per the provisions of the contract.

The equipment is installed, connected and running. As the systems are being brought online the crews are working to confirm that the equipment is installed as specified and establish communications between the controls and equipment.

A balance of the air and water flows are in the works, which is necessary for the controls to regulate the system and maintain temperatures. The contractor and Los Alamos County are working diligently to get the system properly running so that the facility can be re-opened to the public.

After the facility is open, the contractor will have minor work to complete such as fine tuning of the controls and air and water flows.

When the system is up and working, a one day notice will be provided to the public through local media.
