Los Alamos County Survey And Recording Of Fire Station 4 Public Meeting Now Available Online

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Public Works and Fire Departments held a public meeting on Monday evening to review the three sites under consideration for the proposed Fire Station 4 replacement project.

Officials announced that those who were unable to attend can now watch a recording of the meeting and take a short survey, both available on the County website: https://lacnm.com/FS4

The meeting outlined the need for a replacement fire station and included a tour of the current facility.

Discussions covered the three sites under consideration:

  • 1) The existing station at 4401 Diamond Drive;
  • 2) The golf course maintenance yard at 9999 San Ildefonso Road; and
  • 3) An area north of the playground equipment at 101 Loma Linda.

Officials emphasized the importance of community feedback in the decision-making process. Residents are encouraged to watch the meeting, forward questions or comments to the Project Manager Sobia Sayeda, at lacpw@lacnm.us, and participate in a short survey regarding the three sites. The survey will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 7.

Additional public meetings are scheduled for Oct. 15 and 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Los Alamos Fire Department Administration Offices at 999 Central Ave., 3 Floor. The County project team will present all feedback to the Los Alamos County Council on Nov. 12. The Council is expected to select a site at that meeting.
