Los Alamos County Social Services Announces ‘Open Beds’ Platform For Behavioral Health Treatment Referrals

Social Services Manager Donna Casados

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Social Services Manager Donna Casados announced today that the County’s Social Services Division has joined cloud-based platform Open Beds, operating through the New Mexico Behavioral Health Referral Network.

The platform unifies and tracks all behavioral health treatment and support services in a single network.

“Open Beds facilitates rapid, digital referrals and fosters collaboration among mental health, substance use, social services and medical providers, which drives better patient treatment outcomes,” Casados said.

The new platform offers many benefits that were not available until now, she said.

“We’re excited to have access to Open Beds,” Casados said, adding that it will help streamline the behavioral health treatment referral process, improve process efficiency, increase access to behavioral health care and crisis services, and create a trusted treatment referral network.

Open Beds is available to assist adults and youth with either inpatient or outpatient services.

Residents with questions about Open Beds or behavioral health services can call the Los Alamos County Social Services Division at 505.662.8068.

“Although some of our staff may be working remotely from home during the pandemic, we are still available to assist residents needing our services or referrals,” Casados said. “I encourage anyone in our community who may need help during this challenging time to reach out to us.”
