Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Office Gains New Deputies

The Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Office has announced the hiring of two new deputy sheriffs. 

Deputy John Horne Sr. and Deputy James Leach were sworn into office March 30 by Sheriff Marco Lucero.

“I am proud to have these two well qualified officers as part of the Sheriff’s Office,” Lucero said. “Deputy Horne is a retired lieutenant with 19 years of service with the New Mexico Mounted Patrol. Deputy Leach is a retired deputy/sergeant with the Tacoma Sheriff’s Office in Washington. Both are longtime residents of Los Alamos. These are two very well qualified deputies who will enhance professional services to our community.”
