Los Alamos County Precinct Randomly Selected Among Others For 2024 Post Election Voting System Recheck

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County (LAC) Clerk’s Office will conduct a Post-Election Voting System Check for the 2024 Primary Election at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in the County Clerk Warehouse, 1000 Central Ave. (Located on the west side of the Municipal Building next to the loading dock).

All  organizations, representatives, candidates, media and members of the public are welcome to attend.

In accordance with NMSA 1978. 1-14-13.2, various precincts within counties throughout the State of New Mexico were selected for the purpose of having the County Clerks manually recount the votes directly from the paper ballots in the precincts randomly selected.

On June 25, 2024, LAC was notified by accounting firm of Zlotnik & Sandoval, PC that the Councilor at Large (Dem) race in Precinct 9 was randomly selected for the voting system check.

As required by law, Clerk Maestas has appointed bi-partisan election workers to serve on the post-election audit board (Board).  These results will be sent to the accounting firm of Zlotnik & Sandoval, PC and the New Mexico Secretary of State, as required by law. The results will be made available on the County Clerk’s webpage: www.losalamosnm.us/clerk.
