For many, the end of the year is a time of reflection, and the Library is no different. At the December board meeting, Library Manager Gwen Kalavaza gave an update on the Library’s Strategic Plan 2024-2027, which is based on the Community Services Integrated Master Plan.
The Library has made significant progress toward its goals, including the addition of Hindi materials to the collection, online access to the Wall Street Journal, and coordination with Social Services to offer drop-in evening hours at both libraries.
In 2025 the Library will continue to work on building the volunteer program, offer opportunities to improve technology literacy for staff and patrons, and finalize the designs for the outdoor classroom. The new year holds many exciting opportunities for our community!
One way to make sure you stay up to date with the latest Library news is to follow the Library’s new social media accounts @LAClibrary:
The accounts will post about all things Library including reading and viewing resources, new service launches, programming news, youth services and branch specific content, and much more.
December programming will take a break the weeks of Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, but there are many events early in the month, including:
- Slow Travel New Mexico – Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024 – 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Mesa Public Library Rotunda.
