Los Alamos County Libraries And Social Services Division Relaunch Collaboration To Better Assist The Public

Following a successful pilot program last year, Los Alamos County Social Services Division announces the relaunch of its evening hours collaboration with the Mesa Public Library and White Rock Branch Library to begin this week and continue throughout the year.

“We recognize that not everyone can make it into our office to meet with us during regular business hours. An additional benefit is that many people feel the library is a welcoming and non-stigmatizing location to ask questions and seek help,” Social Services Manager Jessica Strong said.

Community members that need assistance with housing services, utility payments, food instability or connections to other resources in the County are encouraged to stop by for a one-on-one meeting to learn how Social Services may be able to help. No appointment is necessary.

A staff member from the Social Services Division will be available at the Mesa Public Library and White Rock Branch Library on the following dates and times throughout the year:

Mesa Public Library:

  • Wednesday, March 5, 4-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 2, 4-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 7, 4-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday June 4, 4-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 2, 4-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 6, 4-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 3, 4-7 p.m.
