Los Alamos County Community Services Invites Public To Rededication Of East Park & North Mesa Athletic Courts

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Community Services invites the public to a rededication event celebrating the completion of the East Park and North Mesa Athletic Court Renovation Project. Community members are encouraged to attend and tour the newly improved facilities at both locations.

The rededication will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the North Mesa Pickleball and Tennis Courts at 245 North Mesa Park Road. At 3 p.m., the event will move to the East Park Basketball Court at 300 East Road.

This Parks and Open Space Division project began earlier this year and included the full reconstruction of the basketball court at East Park and the tennis and pickleball courts at North Mesa. Renovations were completed by LA Landscaping & More, LLC, and included demolition of the existing courts, new post-tension concrete slabs, resurfacing, fencing, ADA-compliant parking upgrades, and drainage improvements. A new asphalt parking lot was also added at North Mesa.

Both of these projects were identified in the CSD Integrated Master Plan and support the County Council’s Strategic Priorities of Operational Excellence- Infrastructure Asset Management and Quality of Life- Open Space, Parks and Recreation.

The County is proud to reinvest in these popular recreational spaces and looks forward to welcoming the community back to enjoy them.
