Los Alamos County Community Development Department (CDD) is hosting a free public workshop titled “Home Business Basics: Permits, Planning & Pathways to Growth”, 5:30-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 15 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.
The workshop is designed to help aspiring and current home-based business owners navigate the steps to get started and stay compliant.
Topics include:
- What qualifies as a home occupation vs. home business;
- Where and how these businesses are allowed;
- Licensing, fees, and application steps; and
- Compliance standards like parking, signage, and employee limits.
Attendees can ask questions during the presentation and speak with County staff afterward. A printed information packet with zoning, licensing, and contact details will be provided to in-person attendees. The packet and session recording will be posted online later.
This event is free and open to the public.
