Los Alamos County Clerk Issues Update On Election Night Results Posting In Light Of COVID-19 Pandemic

COUNTY News:

In light of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham recently affirming the ban on mass gatherings for the foreseeable future, Los Alamos County Clerk Naomi Maestas announced today that her office will forego Election Night Reporting (in-person) Tuesday, Nov. 3, inside the Municipal Building.

This decision is intended to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, as the Clerk’s office continues to do its part to battle the ongoing public health pandemic.

As was done in the June 2020 Primary, rather than congregating and waiting for the result tapes from each of the vote centers to be posted at the Municipal Building, the Clerk’s office will post results to its website: www.losalamosnm.us/clerk.

Once results have been posted to the website, the Clerk also will post this information to Clerk’s office Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

As a reminder, voters may submit completed ballots to any Election Day polling place until 7 p.m. Nov. 3. Therefore, the Absentee by Mail Precinct Board will be working well past 7 p.m. Tuesday, qualifying and processing any ballots accepted at each of the Election Day Vote Centers and given to the County Clerk.
