Members of the Los Alamos Polcie Drpartment and the Los Alamos Fire Department met for their annual 4th of July softball game Saturday morning at Overlook Park.
Family and friends came to cheer on their teams as the cops and firefighters played a friendly game in their efforts to win the coveted “Battle of the Badges” traveling trophy.
This year the game was tight, going back and forth for the lead until the title ultimately went to the cops with a final score of 21 over the firefighters at 20. LAFD won in 2014, which meant he had to hand over the traveling trophy to Police Chief Dino Sgambellone.
To express their appreciation for the service the firefighters and cops do for the community, the New Beginnings Fellowship Church provided Saturday’s softball players with a steak and eggs brunch right after the game.
