Los Alamos Composer Joe Cox Releases New Album

MUSIC News:
At midnight on July 24, when Taylor Swift released her new album “Folklore”, international music publishing giant Hal Leonard LLC called on this guy to transcribe, arrange and notate a single from the album. His name is Joe Cox. He didn’t write the songs; he wrote them down.
In a career spanning more than three decades, composer, pianist and Los Alamos resident Joe Cox has worked behind the scenes in the music industry, working on the chart topping songs of Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, Luke Bryan, The Weeknd, J Balvin, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, and hundreds of other artists for Hal Leonard LLC.
Today Cox is releasing a new album of 14 original piano solos, “Dreams & Sketches” on Spotify and other music streaming services. The artist describes the collection as cinematic, ambient, minimalist and cross-over classical. The listener would pick this album for calm reflection, similar to the music of Glass, Budd, Satie, Debussy or Goldmund.
Cox is no stranger to the New Mexico music scene. He is a former member of Coro de Camara  and was choir director at Trinity-on-the-Hill Episcopal Church in Los Alamos for 26 years.
“Dreams & Sketches” is Cox’s most personal work to date.
He says, “This is the kind of music I like to have going on in the background while I’m working around the house or playing a card game with Ruth.”
